SoftCloset Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026
This policy applies to the SoftCloset iPhone app (“SoftCloset”, “the app”). SoftCloset is a wardrobe, outfit and packing tool. It is designed so your clothes, photos and plans stay on your own device.
- Who we are
SoftCloset is provided by Ryan McCahill, trading as SoftCloset, United Kingdom.
Contact: [email protected]
We are the developer of the app. We do not operate a SoftCloset account system and we do not run a SoftCloset server that stores your wardrobe.
- What this policy covers
This policy explains what information the app uses, where it is stored, which iPhone permissions it may request, and how to contact us. It is written for an on-device app under UK data-protection rules.
- We do not collect personal data
SoftCloset does not:
- create user accounts or logins
- use analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs
- sell or rent information
- upload your wardrobe, photos or outfits to our servers
- build advertising profiles
If you never email us, we hold no personal data about you.
- Information stored on your iPhone
The following is saved on your device only, using Apple’s on-device storage (SwiftData) and the app’s own photo files:
- garment photos you take or choose
- names, brands, colours, sizes and notes you enter
- outfits, favourites and “need” items
- trip / planner days and packed ticks
- extra wardrobes you add for other people on the same phone
- a backup file only if you export one
